"Colourful Alarm Clock" acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas 6x^ in. $60
At least I HOPE its winter's end! It's spring break for the boys school the next 2 weeks. I hope I can continue to paint the farm animal theme. :-) I have been working on a 12X12 in. canvas with a rooster, but I've been experiencing dissatisfaction with him, so today I started again and produced this 6X6 sketch....when stuck, start from the beginning! I'm trying to keep the brushwork LOOSE and colours VIBRANT.
Photo I'm using for my roosters! He's from Texas!
With spring around the corner, the whole family decided to go SNOWSHOEING Saturday morning! I finally scored a sale on another 2 pairs of snowshoes...so now we all can go at the same time! Now that winter's nearly over :-)
Displaced Polar Bear on the loose!
Could you RUN with such abandon down a snowy trail? I'm going to strive for that...ears back, tongue hanging out (that is a given), wind in the face, running like nobody's watching??!
I always get distracted, though, with those small things in nature that sing to me and catch my eye...

I love your photos and the painting of the rooster. The brush strokes do look like feathers. Enjoy Spring Break! It is the beautiful month of March here, so I will send you pics of wildflowers if I see them. Miss you all!

Your rooster is gorgeous! The colours and brush strokes really animate him.

Love the little cones! And your rooster! And your dog running with abandon. What is happier than a happy dog, eh?
Terry and I just took up snowshoeing -- where does your family go to snowshoe? We love it!

Thanks Louise! Yes a dog is just the greatest thing! Right now we regularly just go up the High Rim Trail off Beaver Lake Road. (15 minute drive up the hill across from us! Up to Wrinkly Face Provincial Park!!

LOVE the pine cone pic! Great family photos as well. And about the rooster...I can picture him outside of one of your lovely Tuscan doorways. Perhaps a cat on a window ledge. I so enjoy your work. :)
