This is the time to start thinking about gift giving. I have several paintings set for the Lake Country Art Gallery AND the Lake Country Coffee House fundraiser - Under 100! There is a preview tonite from 5-7 and its $10 a ticket to be one of the first 10 people to purchase! This is a new initiative because opening day Saturday it is usually lined up outside the door for eager buyers to select the best of their favourite artists before their works disappear!! But never fear! You can view and buy the art until Christmas! Support your local artists!
Many of you know I had bunion surgery back around the end of September. I had a ton help from my lovely friends and community around me. I am filled with an enormous amount of gratitude. It's been a long 2 months, hard for me physically and mentally but I'm beginning to come out of the fog and I am painting again. I found it exhausting healing, resting and well ...down right annoying sometimes!! For someone as independent and physically active as me, not being able to get around on my own has been difficult. But I'm back on 2 feet, although one is a bit bigger than the other yet...but getting better every day! I painted this flower still life last week. I stood for about 3 hours painting and realised after that day that I likely need to sit down right now while I paint. Always learning...
The three paintings above are in another show this weekend! It's a busy time! Our FCA Chapter is holding a one day Art show and Sale at the Okanagan Mission Community Hall 4409 Lakeshore Road, Kelowna (corner of Dehart and Lakeshore. We are having an opening event with wine tasting this evening and the show runs from 9 til 4 tomorrow! Please stop by to see some of the Okanagan's finest artists.
Have a great weekend everyone!
