Okay, I'm about to do a major blog faux pas...talking about my dog....that is according to the expert blog people...oh well...My puppy, Austin, now 15 months, is a major part of my life so I need to blog about him once in awhile. Last fall I started pre-agility with the Lake Country Jumping Agility Mutts (LCJAM) and joined the club, just because I needed more to do...:-) Seriously, I want to create a great relationship wth Austin and it has helped me understand a great deal about dog training. It's fun and the club is very supportive. Austin and I attended our first Agility Fun Trial yesterday in Osoyoos, BC. Austin and I are in a class called Pre-Starters for newbies...less difficult course and less obstacles to manouver around. But Fun, Fun, Fun! Here's a few pictures!
Here's Austin on the table doing a down stay.
Running to a jump!

Oh, Mama this is fun!!
Jump Austin!
And here's Austin running out of the chute, lookin' for Mama! This was the last obstacle of the Standard course before the last jump! Experienced dogs would not need someone holding open the chute, but I want Austin to have a high success rate with each piece of equipment and make it easiest for him. Right now he does jumps and tunnels and we are working on the "contact" pieces like the dog walk, the A frame and the teeter totter, plus beginner training with the hardest piece of equipment, the weave poles! All in all great fun!
